In 1520, the two great nations of England and France met at Calais on the Field of Cloth of Gold to cement the recent peace between them with several days of music, feasting, games, and friendly competition. The Barony of Twin Moons is pleased to invite you to our own Field of Cloth of Gold to celebrate Twelfth Night. Join us on Jan 14 for a day of dancing, games, and music.
On Saturday, there will be plenty of games to play, including chess, King’s Table, hafentafl, nine man morris, cribbage, and plenty of others. We will have space set aside for dancing and musical entertainment. There will also be a subtlety competition with 3 categories: sweet, savory, and non-edible. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. We will be having court and peerage circles for the Laurels and Pelicans. The event will be at the Red Mountain Multigenerational Facility on the east side of Mesa (near Brown Road and the 202). We will be in the Mesquite Room (turn left after you enter the main doors and the rooms will be on your right). We will have access to the outdoor patio, which is shaded.
We will be serving a box lunch prepared by Mistress Magdalen Venturosa. The lunch will be: Yrchons (mini meatloaf with almonds), Tart of Spinach , Tart for Ember Day (dessert tart), Pye of Chiken, Plum Pudding, Mincemeat pies, and a selection of cheeses made by Lord Floki the Ginger, Apples, Grapes, Sucets (sugar candies), Manchets (bread), and three sauces: Mustard Sauce, Pepper sauce, and Green sauce (tangy). Lunches must be reserved ahead of time via the early registration process by the end of the day on December 30 and will be $10 a person, regardless of age. Please contact the Lunch Steward for a list of ingredients. We will try to accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice.
Early registration will be available online using Google Docs and PayPal. Add your name to the google doc at this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSczJA6en112DTWn40vZUOUKTx-8ZI2ljzw75jL1IJZ_thgowQ/viewform.)
