Let all Princes, Lords, Barons, Knights, Squires, and all other members of the Great Kingdom of

Atenveldt, who are not banished or enemies of the King our Lord or doers of evil deeds, know that on the 8th of June, the Insipient Shire of Vallis Aeris will hold our debut event the Tournament of Flowers. Together with our fellow Baronies and Shires, we will enjoy time observing or participating in heavy fighting, rapier, cut and thrust, classes on medieval etiquette, and a multitude of A&S activities. The principal focus of this event will be on chivalry and pageantry both on the field of honor and off. The participants of the contests will be judged on their heraldic display, pageantry, and chivalry, in addition to prowess.

We will have:

  • Heavy Fighting Tournament
  • Rapier Tournament
  • Cut and Thrust Tournament
  • A&S Classes
  • Etiquette Training
  • Silent Auction

Potluck feast to be filled with revelry, camaraderie… and make new friendships.

We have a beautiful location at Thatcher Park with Trees, Ramadas, Stone Privies, a Water fountain, picnic tables with benches, BBQ grills at each ramada.

Site Information:

Site is dry. Pets are allowed on a hand-held leash with owners responsible for waste pickup. Above-ground fires are allowed in park-supplied fire pits. The nearest hospital is Mount Graham Regional Medical Center, 3.5 miles away from the park. There is a water fountain on site; however, we suggest bringing drinking water as well and chairs. Thatcher and Safford have multiple accommodations and there are several restaurants around town. In addition, there is a Walmart, Safeway, and Bashas’ approximately 5 minutes away.

 

Directions from Phoenix

  1. Take the left exit toward US-60 E towards Globe.
  2. Continue on US-60 E (Superstition Fwy). Go for 79.3 mi.
  3. Continue on E Ash St (US-70 E) toward AZ-77 S. Go for 2.0 mi.
  4. Keep left onto E US Highway 70 (US-70). Go for 70.9 mi.
  5. Once entering into Thatcher, turn left (north) onto Reay Lane and then left immediately into the park parking lot (DO NOT PARK ON HIGHWAY) There is additional parking on the other side of the park as well.

 

Direction from Tucson

  1. Take I-10 E toward Benson.
  2. Take exit 352 toward US-191 N/Safford. Go for 0.3 mi.
  3. Turn left onto US-191. Go for 33.7 mi.
  4. Turn left onto US-70 toward Globe/Phoenix. Go for 3.4 mi.
  5. Turn right (north) onto Reay Lane and then left immediately into the park parking lot (DO NOT PARK ON HIGHWAY) There is additional parking on the other side of the park as well.
