When the War is over and new Heirs have been chosen, it is the time for fun and the Shire of Burning Sands is the place to be! We will be having our annual event Sun, Sand, and Swords March 9. There will be something for everyone. No worries, no work, only fun, fun, fun!

For those that want to try their luck on the hard suit field they will have an opportunity to do just that. There will be a “wheel of misfortune” making all the choices for them, including the weapons they use or even the outcome of the fight! Come and try your luck!

If rapier is your game, we also have something for you. Fighters will be placed on four-man teams to try and capture a dragon’s egg with the challenge of getting the egg back home in one piece.

If interested in a little A&S, there will be Jester hats that need to be made more festive. Everything you need will be included. The hats will be put on display for the populace to vote on the best.

The Shire will be providing everyone with a small lunch of soup and sandwiches. Coffee and water will be provided as well. After lunch there will be a dessert contest, so please bring something for everyone to enjoy! The winner will be selected by the populace.

Finally there will be a Silent Auction Fundraiser with a variety of items for sale. If you have anything you would like to contribute to the Silent Auction, just know that all proceeds go to the Shire coffers as a donation. All payments must be in CASH OR CHECK!

Please join us for all the light-hearted fun! Mark your calendar for March 9, 2024 9:00am-4:00pm. Butterfield Park, 10231 Dome St. Wellton AZ. Some navigation apps might try to take you on a scenic route. The easiest way to get there is to take exit 30 to Wellton from I-8 and follow the SCA signs. Site fee is CASH OR CHECK ONLY! $10 for adult members, $15 for non-members and free for children under 18.

Co-Autocrats: Mistress Imma Kaillewey (Donna Callaway) and Mihil von Brandenburg (Michael Yelland)
