Crown Tournament
Crown Tournament is a day is full of pomp and circumstance and chivalry!
Crown Tournament is a day is full of pomp and circumstance and chivalry! Fighters, watched and inspired by their consorts, fight one on one to determine who will be the next heirs to the Atenveldt throne.
The event is traditionally a two day event. The first day is an Armored Combat Tournament ending with the winner and their consort being declared heirs to the thrones. Traditionally, the consort whose fighter won the day consults with her peers to name one of the other fighters her “Shield of Chivalry”. The second day traditionally has two tournaments: one Armored Combat and one Rapier. The Armored Combat tournament has taken many different styles from traditional brackets to full melee, and the winner is generally named Warlord for the next reign. The Rapier tournament is for the court position of Queens Rapier Champion.
We hold crown tournament twice a year, traditionally in February and in August (in COVID-19 times we have suspend this event until in person gatherings are safe). The winners sit as Heirs to the Throne, usually for about three months, and are elevated to Crown at Coronation.
