Warm Greetings and Happy New Year to the Barony of Atenveldt and all who read these words.
I hope this missive finds you well and that everyone has had a safe and happy holiday season.
As we start the new year, there are a few updates and announcements I need to make:
• Since Yule Court was sadly rained out, we’ve postponed it to Weds, Jan 12. This is also our NEXT Fighter Practice. There is NO official FP this Wednesday, Jan 5. Please see the prior announcements for what sort of activities are planned for Yule Court. I hope you all can join us!
• We also have reserved Encanto Park Soccer Field for Jan 19, and a War Practice on Saturday Jan 29th. More information regarding War Practice will be forthcoming.
• We are still in the process of determining where weekly fighter practices will be going forward. Encanto is the first choice, but we’re still trying to work that out with the Parks Department. There are a few other options on the table if that doesn’t work out. Please Stay Tuned.
• Covid is still very much a factor in our community. PLEASE continue to follow the SCA Gathering Guidelines for our Kingdom. This includes wearing masks at all fighter practices – unless you are actively fighting, eating, or drinking – and filling out the covid tracing sheets at each practice you attend. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE. All attendees need to check in with our waiver secretary at all practices and filling out the contact sheet only takes a moment.
• As things are starting to happen again, our Baronial Officer Corps is greatly in need of a few positions filled! Most importantly we are in need of a Web Minister and a Social Media Officer. (Training provided!) But just about every one of the offices need a deputy, so if you or someone you know is interested in getting more involved & having a lot of fun making the magic happen, please contact me or Their Excellencies Baron Nikolaus and Baroness Valdis with your area of interest.
• BORDER WARS is fast approaching! 02/17/2022 – 02/21/2022 in Tonopah, AZ. Please see the event information at: https://www.atenveldt.org/borderwars/ If you have any questions about the event, please contact the stewards at stewards@borderwars.atenveldt.org and if you have any trouble registering for the event, feel free to reach out to me and I will help you figure it out. PREREGISTRATION is Required to Attend. Pre-register by January 15, 2022, for a $10 discount for Adults and a $5 discount for Youth.
I’m very excited for the next few months in our Barony and our Kingdom and hope to see you all stay safe while having fun so that we can get back to enjoying this game of ours.

The Social Media Office of the Barony of Atenveldt is the "official" Voice of the Barony as it pertains to social media channels on the internet. The Office is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Society Social Media Policy for all Baronial social media presences including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Groups, Meetup, Pinterest, and Zoom.
