The Barony of Atenveldt is looking for a Knight Marshal. This position will remain open until filled. This is a warranted position, and they are the primary Armored Combat Marshal for the barony, reporting to the KEM, local Seneschal, and Coronet.
Job Description:
The Baronial Knight Marshal’s primary focus is to ensure the safety of combatants, participants, and spectators, along with the promotion of martial activities in the barony.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The group’s Knight Marshal is the Barony’s primary armored combat marshal and must perform the following duties or arrange for someone else to handle them.
- Attend group practices or events and supervise the armored combat (AC) activities.
- Run Armored Combat Fighter inspections of armor and weapons based on the current society and the kingdom’s armored combat standards.
- As Warranted Marshals, they are authorized to act as the MIC (Marshal in Charge) at events (Meles or Tournaments) that the group sponsors.
- Send in monthly reports to Kingdom Earl Marshal, Coronet, and Seneschal.
- Responsible for notifying the Kingdom Earl Marshal of any injuries during official practices or events.
- Other duties as needed to support the Martial Arts in the group.
Qualifications:
- Be an SCA member and have immediate access to the kingdom or local newsletter
- Marshals are expected to have read both the Society and Kingdom handbooks and abide by them.
- Know the rules of the list and be willing to enforce them.
- Willingness to learn and assist in coordinating rapier events.
- You should have experience as an armored combat fighter.
- Will need to be a Warranted Marshal.
