Experience the Magic of the Middle Ages

We are the Shire of Windale — where Northern Arizona journeys back in time.

The sounds of clashing swords, the hum of creativity, the warmth of shared stories—this is life in Windale. Here in Kingman, Bullhead City, and Golden Valley, our shire is a place where community and history come alive through hands-on adventure.

Who We Are

Whether you dream of wielding a sword, crafting a feast, or weaving a tale, you’ll find a place among us. The Dream lives here—come be part of it.

The Shire of Windale is your local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a worldwide non-profit dedicated to researching and recreating the arts, combat, and culture of the pre-17th century world.

As part of the Kingdom of Atenveldt, our shire serves Northern Arizona with a small but passionate community. We gather to learn, teach, and share skills ranging from armored combat and archery to weaving, cooking, and heraldry. We welcome all cultures, backgrounds, and experience levels—whether you’re here to explore medieval crafts, forge friendships, or just try something new.
