Activity

Bardic, Class, Singing

This will be a three-part class (approximately 4 hours). On day one, during the first hour, Mistress Elieth will talk about the characteristics of pilgrimages and mention some of the most important ones during the Middle Ages. During the second hour, Dame Angele and Master Seamus will help us sing some songs typically sung during pilgrimages. The repertoire, consisting of songs taken from Llibre Vermell de Montserrat and Cantigas de Santa Maria, will be posted on a Facebook group available to participants in advance for them to study the songs prior to the class if desired. As a final part on day two, the class will meet to go on a pilgrimage around the site, while we sing the songs we practiced earlier. Bear in mind we will pilgrimage around the site so dress accordingly. At the end of the pilgrimage, participants will receive a pilgrimage badge made by Master Seamus.
