What kind of merriment you might ask? The dancing kind! We will be hosting an Italian Renaissance Masquerade Ball, including buffet style refreshments and finger food. The menu will be announced at a later date, but the food is free! We will have options for alternative diets (vegan, gluten free) but if you need something specific, please reach out to our Kitchen Steward. Please bring your own plates and utensils so we can keep waste down. We won’t have a big feast set up, just tables around the edge of the room for hanging out and eating so no need for a big feast set up. The buffet will be mostly small, finger foods and bite sized pieces so you are able to snack throughout the day and stay on the move so you can enjoy…

The dancing!! Following our opening Court, we will begin by teaching traditional Court dances followed by an afternoon of open floor and called dancing! So often, when court dancing is done at an event all the time is spent teaching, so we will make sure there is plenty of time to both teach and dance! And if you are interested in performing music for part of our day of dancing, please reach out to the event Steward.

This event will also host our Annual Nobility of Love competition! Outgoing Nobility of Love will host a tournament of grace that showcases the love you have for your partner. Anyone is welcome to compete, as long as you love  (our current Nobility of Love are father and son!)

We will be having a “Best Masquerade Mask” competition, to be judged by Their Excellencies! So make or buy the coolest, most unique mask you can for a chance to win.

And no day of courtly grace is complete without an Arts and Sciences Showcase or a Largesse Derby! Bring your best for the A&S display, show off the thing that really shouts ATENVELDT to you. For the largesse derby, bring your art that you would like to donate to the Barony and the populace will vote on their favorite. The winner will get to choose an item off the table.

This event will include the in-person polling for our next Baron and Baroness (on-line polling will be during the week leading up to the event). Keep an eye out on our social media, website and the Palm Prints for Letters of Intent from our B&B Candidates.
