TRM Atenveldt have responded to this news. Please read the letter below:
Greetings Unto the Great and Wise Populace of Atenveldt!
It is with the highest exaltation that We, Morgan and Elizabeth along with Our Heirs and Seneschal, share with you these words. We have all longed for the moments that we can join one another again to celebrate our common interests and activities. With thoughtful consideration and hope, the Board of Directors and SCA, Inc have initiated our opportunities to meet in camaraderie and joy.
Beginning June 1, We can initiate Our first phase of celebrations. Be mindful please, that these gatherings are not without their limitations. While We know & understand that not all of you will agree with every piece of these restrictions, We also know that we are all eager to rejoice and that we can work together, carefully and with extreme caution within the ruleset for return outlined below. We must ensure we offer no reason to return to the restrictions we’ve had to embrace this last year. We must, as a community, be cautious with our most vulnerable. We know that the good people of Our lands, especially Our peers and landed nobles, will draw upon the deepest reserves of honor and valour to usher in what surely will mean a new era of comportment between us all.
Though this is the first communication, it will absolutely not be the last. We ask that you not begin planning events or practices until We have established Our Kingdom protocol to remain consistent and safe within the guidelines released today. Prior to the launch of these restricted events, We must determine Our most effective path forward. We will be establishing meetings to speak with a variety of groups to ensure consistency and caution in the hopes that our strength and resilience allows us to include broader and more frequent gatherings. Between now and June 1, We will continue to actively monitor CDC guidelines, We will partner and consult with Our cousins through the Known World to share what we learn and We will share with the Board of Directors Our stories and suggestions. For now, here are the requirements as set forth by the Board:
1. Masks that fully cover the mouth and nose must be worn by all attendees over the age of 4 at all times and during all activities except for eating and drinking;
2. Court, bardic circles, or any activity that involves voice projection shall also require that masks be worn at all times. Sound amplification devices are highly recommended;
3. No day board, water bearing, or food of any kind shall be provided by event staff or attendees to other attendees. All attendees must provide their own food and beverages;
4. While consuming food or beverages, attendees are required to remain stationary and follow social distancing rules;
5. No overnight camping shall be allowed;
6. All events shall be held outdoors;
7.There shall be a maximum of 150 people at any event; and
8. All events shall require preregistration.
These are non-negotiable, and We must maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any exceptions to the above rules. With that in mind, We continue to discuss options for how to accomplish our gatherings while following these requirements. We know that you will be both gracious and patient with the officers and autocrats as we all move forward toward Our common goal of a fully reopened and active kingdom.
We all have questions about what this will mean for Us and for Our calendar of events; however We know without a doubt that if we are reckless or impatient, We run the risk of increasing dangers to Our populace and our greater communities. We must call upon the values we hold dear to balance prudence with hope. We will not risk you, our family, in a rush to resume activities. We are together in this and with all of you. We will proceed as quickly as caution will permit.
Our eternal thanks for your loving support over this last year and more. You will hear of more plans soon!
