Order of Precedence
 Order of Precedence  

Order of Precedence is a sequential heirarchy of rank. In the SCA, this takes the form of recognition of awards received, the rank of the award and when the person recieved it. In formal events, the Order of Precedence plays a part in how members of the SCA relate to each other. For example: in Crown tournament, combatants and their consorts are presented to the crown before the tournament in Order of Precedence.

In Atenveldt's Online order of precedence, a person need not have an award to be listed.  With photos from a good portion of our populace, the OP works as a who's who in Atenveldt. Feel free to explore around a bit.

Order of the Dragon's Scales

Barony of Sun Dragon

Award Charter

 

       I.     There shall exist in the Barony of Sundragon an award known as the Order of the Dragon’s Scales. It may be given by the Baron/ess to those persons who have excelled in the Arts in the Barony of Sundragon. The holders of this award shall be entitled to place after their name CDS; and shall be styled as Companions of the Order of the Dragon’s Scales.

     II.     The insignia of the Order shall be jewels colored as the rainbow in the barony arms, which shall be displayed on a white ribbon.

   III.     A) Jewels will be awarded by the Baron/ess, the first being gules and following through the Sundragon rainbow colors, (Argent, Azure, Or) with full Companionship in the Order will be awarded at the pleasure of the Baron/ess, after consultation with the other full members of the order.

  IV.     The order shall take precedence equal to other Baronial Arts awards, but before simple Awards of Arms; higher precedence shall remain unchanged, but a person of lower level shall rank from their elevation unto the Order.

    V.     The Coronet of the Barony of Sundragon shall carry the title of Principal of the Dragon’s Scales and shall have all rights, duties, and privileges of Companions of the Order.

  VI.      The person(s) first elevated unto full Companionship shall bear the title of Premier of the Dragon’s Scales.

VII.     Amendments to this Order shall made by the Principal of the Order after consultation with the Crown.

The Kingdom Order of Precedence is up to date for all court reports received through Mid East Feast. Crown is swiftly approaching. Be sure to check your precedence record and get your request for updates in. If there are missing awards, be sure to provide a copy of the scroll with full text able to be read. For missing offices include the start and end dates as well as the title of the office.
