Order of Precedence

Order of Precedence is a sequential heirarchy of rank. In the SCA, this takes the form of recognition of awards received, the rank of the award and when the person recieved it. In formal events, the Order of Precedence plays a part in how members of the SCA relate to each other. For example: in Crown tournament, combatants and their consorts are presented to the crown before the tournament in Order of Precedence.

In Atenveldt's Online order of precedence, a person need not have an award to be listed. With photos from a good portion of our populace, the OP works as a who's who in Atenveldt. Feel free to explore around a bit.

This is the form that must be used by Court Heralds for all Kingdom and Baronial Courts. Copies of this form must be provided to at least the Abacus and Aten Principal Heralds; additional copies should be provided to the Royals (Crown or Coronet) holding court, and should also be kept on file by the reporting herald.

Order of the Vert Glove

Barony of Atenveldt

Blazon:

Argent, two palm trees coupled, trunks crossed in saltire proper, and in chief a sinister glove appaumy vert.

Award Charter

I. There shall exist in the Barony of Atenveldt an award known as the Order of the Vert Glove, which will be given by the Baron and Baroness, subject to the pleasure of the Crown, to those persons who have displayed excellence in the performance, promotion and teaching of the chivalrous art of light weapons combat, including but not limited to archery, rapier and shinai.

II. The holders of this award shall be styled as Companions of the Vert Glove and shall be entitled to place the initials C.V.G. after their names.

III. The insignia of the Order shall consist of a silver medallion presented on a green ribbon, whose design shall be: Argent, two palm trees coupled, trunks crossed in saltire proper, and in chief a sinister glove appaumy vert.

IV. Companions of the Order shall take precedence after Kingdom and Principality awards, but before Awards of Arms.

V. Amendments to this constitution shall be made by the Baron and Baroness of Atenveldt after due consultation with the Crown.

VI. Companionship of previous recipients of this award is hereby confirmed.

VII. The Principal of the Order shall be the Baron. The Protector of the Order shall be the King. The Premier of the Order shall be the first person to receive this award.

The Kingdom Order of Precedence is up to date for all court reports received through Mid East Feast. Crown is swiftly approaching. Be sure to check your precedence record and get your request for updates in. If there are missing awards, be sure to provide a copy of the scroll with full text able to be read. For missing offices include the start and end dates as well as the title of the office.
