Order of Precedence
 Order of Precedence  

Order of Precedence is a sequential heirarchy of rank. In the SCA, this takes the form of recognition of awards received, the rank of the award and when the person recieved it. In formal events, the Order of Precedence plays a part in how members of the SCA relate to each other. For example: in Crown tournament, combatants and their consorts are presented to the crown before the tournament in Order of Precedence.

In Atenveldt's Online order of precedence, a person need not have an award to be listed.  With photos from a good portion of our populace, the OP works as a who's who in Atenveldt. Feel free to explore around a bit.

Award Charter

In Anno Societatis fifteen, during the Reign of Their Royal Majesties Einrich and Shaleaya there was created an award known as the Order of the Queen’s Cypher. Jerilyn of Vert Silva was created Premier of this Order on October 4, 1980.

I. There shall exist in the Kingdom of Atenveldt an award, known as the Order of the Queen’s Cypher, which may be given by the Queen to those persons whose service has been of great help to Her during Her Reign.

II. The members of the Order shall be styled Bearers of the Queen’s Cypher and shall be entitled to place the initials B.Q.C. after their names.

III. The insignia of the Award shall take the form of a stylized rendering of the Queen’s initials, the design to be determined in turn by each Queen who chooses to bestow her cypher.

IV. Companions of the Order shall take precedence after Awards of Arms but before Principality non-armigerous Orders, and an individual may receive only on Cypher for a given Reign of any Queen.

V. Amendments to this charter shall be made by the Crown of Atenveldt.

VI. The Principal of the Order shall be the Queen and the Protector of the Order shall be the King.

VII. Membership in the Order of all previous recipients is hereby confirmed.
