Order of Precedence

Order of Precedence

Order of Precedence is a sequential heirarchy of rank. In the SCA, this takes the form of recognition of awards received, the rank of the award and when the person recieved it. In formal events, the Order of Precedence plays a part in how members of the SCA relate to each other. For example: in Crown tournament, combatants and their consorts are presented to the crown before the tournament in Order of Precedence.

In Atenveldt's Online order of precedence, a person need not have an award to be listed. With photos from a good portion of our populace, the OP works as a who's who in Atenveldt. Feel free to explore around a bit.

This is the form that must be used by Court Heralds for all Kingdom and Baronial Courts. Copies of this form must be provided to at least the Abacus and Aten Principal Heralds; additional copies should be provided to the Royals (Crown or Coronet) holding court, and should also be kept on file by the reporting herald.

Award Charter

In Anno Societatis thirty-seven, during the third Reign of Their Royal Majesties Aaron and Alessandra there was created an award known as the Order of the Golden Blade. Ruik Levushka Ulyanov was created Premier of this Order on August 3, 2002.

I. There shall exist in the Kingdom of Atenveldt an award known as the Order of the Golden Blade, which may be given by the Crown to those persons who have demonstrated skill in the art of defense with the rapier.

II. An individual may receive only one Golden Blade Award.

III. The members of this Order shall be styled as Companions of the Order of the Golden Blade and shall be entitled place the initials G.B.C. after their names.

IV. The insignia of the order shall be; Azure, two rapiers inverted crossed in saltire and in base a rose Or.

V. Companions of the Order shall take precedence after armigerous Principality Awards and before armigerous Baronial Awards.

VI. The Protectors of the order will be the Crown of Atenveldt.

VII. Amendments to this charter shall be made by the Crown of Atenveldt.

VIII. Membership in the Order of all previous recipients of this award is hereby confirmed.

I have made a couple of new features that are visible this weekend. You can now recommend someone for an award, right from their OP record. Look for the link below the picture on the right side of the screen.

I have re-ordered the pictures above this announcement so that the newest are displayed first. Also pictures will show people's titles if they are entered into the database. Each person must submit what they go by. (ie, Lord, Lady, Master, Sir, Dame, Mistress... compound titles (Baron Sir, Duchess Dame) will be rejected.)
